“Reselling items online was so painful, always second guessing how much to charge, and what would be the best site to sell on. The research involved for each item could take hours and you’d still feel like you were guessing. That’s what I wanted to solve, that’s why I founded THRIFT. We are making the resale economy more transparent.”
Founded in 2017, we’ve been quietly trying to solve some of the biggest challenges that individuals and businesses face when selling second hand items online. Pricing is so dynamic, and transparency so poor. Our goal has always been to support a circular economy, using technology to create products that simplify the resale of items online. That’s what we continue to work towards each day.
Our founder Mark O’Hara’s background in retail management first highlighted the significant barriers that limit businesses ability to sell items online effectively. Inefficiencies in comparing, pricing and selling items across multiple marketplaces all make it difficult, time consuming and expensive.
The end result of this means there’s fewer second hand items online, and more items wasted and going into landfill. We believe the future of resale commerce is reliant on transparency and a collective effort to keep products and materials in use for longer.
We are providing a connecting infrastructure for resale items that allows retailers to easily review, compare and sell items across multiple marketplaces.
Our team brings together expertise from the worlds of retail, design and development.
